Had a whole ton of crap to do, and the game’s started so I’ll be brief.
Titans-Chiefs: started boring, ended awesomely. I feel a little bad for the Chiefs, losing a bunch of playoff games at home in a row. But they are a division rival of my team, so it’s only a little.
Falcons-Rams: fell asleep halfway through, but when I saw the score I wasn’t surprised. The Rams just seemed flat.
Bills-Jags: this is the game I wanted to see. I’ll be pulling for whoever wins this one, but I kinda want it to be the Bills so that my dream of a Bills-Vikings Super Bowl stays alive.
Panthers-Saints: every time I try to pick who wins between these two, the opposite happens. For what it’s worth, my feeling is the Saints should win, so.... Panthers? I don’t know.
Who are you pulling for?

I would love to see Tyrod Taylor lead the bills to a solid win just to spite the organisation. I bet they dick him about again in the offseason either way.

The only way for the afc championship to be in the great state of Tennessee is for the bills and titans to win.
No one circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills!

As a Louisianian, I go for the Saints.

Rooting for the Bills since the jags have D and I’m a pats fan.

The Jags have the D, but unfortunately for them they also have Blake Bortles.

Just watching without a rooting interest, which is relaxing. Kinda pulling for Buffalo, but not an Incognito fan. I sort of like both teams in the late game, but will probably root for the Saints.
This is the upside of rooting for a bad team - no playoff stress.

My Chiefs did what I sort of expected them to do. Back in the 90's, in the playoff game, crucial 3rd &10. Schotty calls for a run up the middle. A RUN UP THE MIDDLE! I was expecting a similar play called by Reid toward the end yesterday on that 3rd & 10, but instead they actually tried passing the ball and almost succeeded. That’s a much better improvement!
But, this new KC team manages their own death in a new way: Run up the score, then hits the cruise control without actually having the cruise control option set to “on”. That game a few years back when Andrew Luck came back to destroy us was the best example, then we had yesterday. It’s a whole new way to lose a playoff games!

And then I hope my redskins make a move on him!

That was the game against the Broncos, right? That game and the Championship game against the Steelers were both nerve-wracking. But it ended well.

It may have been against the Broncos. The only part I remember, probably due to the trauma, was that play, which was one of the dumbest plays I’ve ever seen. It hurt, man. It hurt.

It’s going alright. Finally getting done with the holiday season, trying to convince my SO that I’m not “manorexic”, pissed that both the Titans and Jags won. How are things up in Denver?

I’m 0-3 so far on picks. Thank goodness we didn’t do an office pool this year. I’d be out several dollars!

Well, I start a new job tomorrow morning! It’s a bit more money, lots of benefits, and hopefully far less dysfunctional. I’m really excited about it. Unfortunately my partner is still stuck at the job he hates and hasn’t been able to get a look in anywhere. I feel bad because he’s been trying for over a year, and then I fill out one application and was hired.

If I’d actually put them on paper, I’d be 1-2 with only getting the Jags right.

As long as the speedy boi doesn’t have to throw, it’s him. He’s like Tim Tebow, but with less Jesus. And less athletic ability. And he can’t throw as well.

At this point the Jags are starting to remind me of the 2000 Ravens. Great defense. Rookie running back wih over 1,000 yards. Forgettable QB. The main difference is that Ravens team was historically good against the run. The Jags haven’t been, but they really held Shady in check today. I’m a Steelers fan (grew up in Pittsburgh) and I’m pretty worried. If they can stop Bell like they did McCoy today and AB coming off an injury against that pass defense I’m not sure the Steelers will get anything going. The Steelers DB’s have been a mess without Shazier and even though Bortles isn’t great if the Jags can score 14 or 17 points they could eek out a win. Of course it wouldn’t surprise me if they fall flat on their faces at some point in the playoffs, but I think any team would be wise to be scared of them right now.

Congratulations! Better job/better pay/better benefits/better environment is a great thing!
You should get your partner to go see a headhunter and have them see what the problems with his approach/background might be.

Thanks! We’re taking lunch now, but I already think I’m gonna like it a lot. Way more physical, too, so I should be able to drop some weight while I’m at it.
I think I will tell him to do that, though I think the biggest issue is that he has so much experience in retail management that retail companies think he’s too pricey for them.

I’m glad you’ll dig the gig! I’m working on my last few pounds of weight loss myself before I start lifting weights to bulk up. 71 pounds down in less than a year! Of course, tonight was my binge meal, but I still stayed below my daily caloric intake cap (I think), so I feel a bit gluttonous.
Is there a reason why he isn’t applying for higher end jobs with the retail companies?
